Qarvasla Hotel is located at the crossroads of three streets in old Tbilisi, on the Great Silk Caravan Road, which is why travelers stopped their horses and camels here centuries ago to continue their jouney the next day. The building is a masterpiece of the Moorish style of the XIX century, the complete reconstruction of which took 3 years and was carried out by a team of the best designers and architects in the country. Today, it has returned to its original purpose and proudly hosts visitors from different countries.
The Qarvasla building was built in 1893-1895 and includes a beautiful open courtyard. The building is a historical heritage monument of national importance, that has preserved its authenticity while blending harmoniously with the architecture of the XX century; it consists of 48 rooms of high standard. Every detail, texture and colour has been thought through so that the interior and spaces of the hotel are fully integrated into the eclectic mood of this place, while preserving its authenticity as much as possible. The exterior of the building has also been preserved with a stunning appearance. The unplastered red brick building is distinguished by its high artistic and architectural value, and from all rooms you have an authentic view of old Tbilisi.
The hotel overlooks at the old cathedral “Sioni” from the right side, where the masterpieces of antique carpets are laid out for sale directly on the street. From the left side of the hotel you will follow the ancient trade street – Leselidze, which leads to the Jewish David’s Shrine and the Muslim Mosque.
